Fantasia is SWN's Favorite Celebrity of 2013 and Favorite Female Artist of 2013. The R&B singer has come along way since her 2004 American Idol win. With 4 albums, 2 headline Tours, multiple awards including a Grammy, starring roles on Broadway and much more --Fantasia is most definitely the new Empress of R&B/Soul.
When Fantasia takes the stage her charisma and dynamic vocals commands the stage so naturally. She was truly born to sing and entertain. Even though in the past some have compared the singer to the likes of legendary singer Patti LaBelle; Tasia is truly in her own element and is making her own music history.
Watch Fantasia's video for "Lose to Win" from her chart topping album "Side Effects of You":
Pretty Little Liars is SWN's Favorite Teen Drama TV Show of 2013. The ABC Family hit series has been keeping us guessing who's A for sometime now and now that the big reveal has happened we still need answers to hundreds of unanswered questions. Not to mention PLL's has the best female cast heading up the show: Shay Mitchell, Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, and Lucy Hale.
The fab 4 of Liars each have away of making you feel like you are in the small town of Rosewood right along with them. Plus with the help of the supporting cast: Laura Leighton, Ian Harding, Sasha Pieterse,Holly Marie Combs, Chad Lowe, Janel Parrish, Tyler Blackburn, Keegan Allen, and Tammin Sursok the show is a must watch for sure. Its down right addicting and if you love a multi-layered mystery you'll definitely love PLL's.
Storyline: A clique of teenage girls drift apart after the group's leader, Alison DiLaurentis, goes missing. Her body is found and the girls are reunited at her funeral. All four begin receiving text messages from the mysterious 'A', who seems to know many of the group's deepest secrets, some of which only the late Alison had knowledge of. The girls join forces against A's scheming and try to uncover the mystery of Alison's death.
Shay Mitchell is SWN's Favorite Teen Drama TV Actress of 2013. Playing the role of Emily Fields -- a beautiful sporty teen/swim team star/lesbian on ABC Family's hit show, "Pretty Little Liars", Mitchell has taken on the role that showcases her acting skills with ease. Along with her besties Hanna, Aria and Spencer, Emily takes on the quest to find out who murdered their friend Alison and who is the person calling themselves A who has been making their lives a living hell.
PLL's fans have fallen in love with Shay. Not only does she make each of her scenes memorable, Shay has used social media to get to know and stay connected to her fans. We are team Shay all the way.
Steven R. McQueen is SWN's Favorite Teen Drama TV Actor of 2013. As Jeremy Gilbert, the hot little brother of Elena Gilbert, on CW's hit vampire series, "The Vampire Diaries", McQueen took his new title as a vampire hunter and truly kicked some butt. The last season of TVD's really switched things up with Jeremy becoming the new hunter after Elena killed the other hunter. McQueen really embodied the strong/no fear attitude of a vampire hunter which seemed so natural. And to watch him try to fight the hunters need to kill when he was around his sister Elena who is now a vampire--woo it had us sitting on the edge of our seats. We already liked McQueen as an actor but when he killed those vampires and those tattoos appeared on his arm and chest, let's just say Elena's little brother was no longer and we understood why Bonnie had no problem dating a guy a grade level below her.
Much respect to you Steven, last season you out shined them all with your amazing acting skills and the little eye candy was nice too (biceps).
Good Luck Charlie is SWN's Favorite Teen Comedy TV Show of 2013. Disney's hit show, 'Good Luck Charlie" is the most hilarious TV comedy out today about a family. Good Luck Charlie all though is somewhat like The "Cosby Show" and "Step By Step" has its own unique characteristics that has you coming back for more. The show follows the Duncan family played by Bridgit Mendler, Leigh-Allyn Baker, Bradley Steven Perry, Eric Allan Kramer , Jason Dolley, and Mia Talerico.
The mother Amy loves to be the center of attention and still has childhood dreams of being a singer/dancer, the Dad Bob is a bug exterminator and is just totally goofy in a good way, older sister Teddy is the sane one of the family and just wants to experience a normal teen life but knows how to manipulate her mother (at least she thinks so), the oldest son PJ is the child with no brain-poor guy is clueless but has a sweet heart, Gabe is the trouble maker with a capital T --- he keeps everyone on their toes and sweet young Charlie is caught up in the mess of a family called the Duncans.
Storyline: Teenagers Teddy and PJ Duncan and their 10-year-old brother, Gabe, are enlisted to help raise the newest addition to their family, Charlotte (nicknamed "Charlie"), when their parents return to work. With their parents juggling full time careers, they pitch in, getting very familiar with baby formula, burps, clothes, and babysitting while navigating typical teenage life.
Bradley Steven Perry is SWN's Favorite Teen Comedy TV Actor of 2013. Perry has been playing the trouble-maker son, Gabe of the Duncan family on Disney's hit show "Good Luck Charlie" since 2010 and ever since has had us laughing at his characters mischievous ways. Perry is so believable you almost forget your watching a TV show. Even though Perry started his professional acting career in 2007 at the age of 8, his acting skills would make you believe he has been acting for 20 years or more.
I'm saying it right here, keep an eye out for Bradley Steven Perry because he is slated to be the next huge comedic leading man. Perry has already spread his wings and guest appeared on other shows helping him master his craft. We are looking forward to seeing what's next for the young actor.
Peyton List is SWN's Favorite Teen Comedy TV Actress of 2013. The young starlet has been doing her thing as the feisty yet fashionably cute Emma Ross on Disney's hit show "Jessie". The actress has starred in several movies like "27 Dresses", "The Sorcerer's Apprentice", "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" and other TV shows but she is best known for her role on "Jessie" starring alongside Debby Ryan. Peyton has mastered the snooty/selfish character that has made her an household name. With her cute girl next door looks and amazing acting skills Peyton List will be acting for a long time to come.
Scandal is SWN's Favorite Drama TV Show of 2013. For the second year in a row ABC's hits TV series, "Scandal" has topped our Favorites List for best dramatic TV show. Shonda Rhimes Political drama had some tough competition with even several new shows in the running but thanks to Rhimes and her amazing writing team, the storyline continued to get better and better.
The cast is one of the best ensemble group of actors which includes:
Darby Stanchfield , Katie Lowes , Guillermo Díaz , Jeff Perry, Joshua Malina, Bellamy Young , Tony Goldwyn, Scott Foley, and Dan Bucatinsky.
Storyline: Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) has left her role as White House Communications Director for the President to start her own crisis management firm. She is a professional 'fixer' who makes problems go away before anyone even knows they exist. In the mist of fixing problems Olivia has to deal with her hot steamy love affair with the very much married President Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn).
Every week you find yourself immersed in secrets, affairs, scandal, back stabbing, and drama. And every week you find yourself counting down until to the next episode to see what happens next.
Bellamy Young is SWN's Favorite Drama TV Actress of 2013. Young has been acting for years starring in movies like "Mission Impossible III" and hit TV shows like "Scrubs", "Supernatural", "Drop Dead Diva" "Castle", "Criminal Minds" and many others. But its her role on the hit ABC show, "Scandal" as the President's wife, Mellie Grant that has made her a household name. With her southern charm, crystal blue eyes and sophisticated elegance, Bellamy has mesmerized us and caught us up in a love/hate relationship with her character Mellie.
Us Gladiators have been rooting for Olivia Pope and Pres. Fitz to get together but after the shocking flashback scenes showing all what Mellie went through and sacrificed for her man (including being raped by her father-in-law and keeping the secret for the better good) has made us question our alliance. Young took hold of those scenes and made the viewers feel her pain, struggles and sacrifices so effortlessly. We are so looking forward to watching more of Mellie Grant and so glad Shonda Rhimes expanded the role from being a brief walk-on to being a main character.
James Purefoy is SWN's Favorite Drama TV Actor of 2013. Purefoy stars in the Fox's new crime drama series, "The Following", based around the craziness of a psychotic killer who enlist other crazy/needy people to join his cult and do his killings all over the country. James Purefoy brilliantly plays the role of Joe Carrol a college professor/author who causes havoc on the innocent while playing mind games with Kevin Bacon's character former FBI agent Ryan Hardy. James Purefoy is so believable its scary. He has truly mastered the role of a psychotic killer. The teaming of the two actors (Purefoy and Bacon) is artistry at its best.
