SayWhatNews: Good morning Emmanuelle. Thanks so much for sitting down and speaking with SayWhatNews. First tell us who is Emmanuelle Vaugier?
Emmanuelle: I’m a passionate animal advocate. I have 2 dogs, both are rescues. I’m an equestrian. I love to paint, travel. I enjoy holding hands and taking long walks on the beach….LOL.
SayWhatNews: What inspired you to become an Actress?
Emmanuelle: I did a school play in 2nd grade and I loved it. From that point on, I knew I wanted to be an actress.
SayWhatNews: Emmanuelle you have starred in several hit TV shows over the years like CBS comedy, “Two and a Half Men”, CSI: NY, Covert Affairs, Smallville, Highlander, Supernatural, One Tree Hill and many more. Which was your most challenging TV role and why?
Emmanuelle: Most challenging, at first, was Two and a Half Men. I had never worked on a sitcom before in front of a live audience. It’s a very different format from shooting a single camera show. At first it was terrifying….and then I grew to love it.
SayWhatNews: You are currently starring in one of my favorite Sci-Fi shows on the SyFy channel, “Lost Girl” which is currently airing its 5th and final season. Your character, “The Morrigan” is the leader of the Dark Fe. How cool was it to play a powerful evil leader?
Emmanuelle: What can I say…..the dark side has more fun!
SayWhatNews: “Lost Girl”, had an amazing cast such as: Anna Silk, Kris Holden-Reid, Ksenia Solo and K.C. Collins (just to name a few). Now that the show has ended, who will you miss the most and why?
Emmanuelle: That’s like asking someone which child do you love more! (LOL) I will miss them all, but luckily we all still see each other quite regularly, so that’s been really nice.
SayWhatNews: Emmanuelle, your feature film credits are just as impressive as your TV credits. You starred in Saw II, Saw IV, Secondhand Lions (Michael Caine, Robert Duvall), 40 Days and 40 Nights (Josh Hartnett) and House of the Dead 2: Dead Aim to name a few. What was it like acting alongside film legends such as Michael Caine and Robert Duvall?
Emmanuelle: It was such a blessing to have been a part of something with those two and to be able to watch them work. I’m a big fan of both of them.
SayWhatNews: At the Greensville International Film Festival you won best actress for your role in, “Susie’s Hope”. I read that this role you connected most with. Why was this role so meaningful for you?
Emmanuelle: I do a lot of work with animal rescues so this project was very close to my heart. I have a non-profit, The Fluffball Foundation (www.thefluffball.com). We partner with a different deserving rescue each year and help raise money and awareness for their cause through our invite only cocktail event.
SayWhatNews: Just recently, it was announced that you were joining the cast of ABC’s hit show “Mistresses” which 3rd season premieres June 18th. Please tell us about your character Niko and what can fans expect to see this upcoming season?
Emmanuelle: Niko is tough, sexy. She rocks a very distinctive style, and doesn't care what you think about it. She becomes the new mixologist at Wunderbar and a thorn in Joss's side.
SayWhatNews: How did you hear about the new role in “Mistresses” and what was the audition process like?
Emmanuelle: I got a call from my Manager and Agent that they wanted to see me for the role. I went in for the audition. Got another call a day or so later saying I had the offer for the role.
SayWhatNews: I have to ask, can you give us any secrets about the upcoming of season of “Mistresses”?
Emmanuelle: I’m not going to give out any spoilers….but what I can say is that season 3 is definitely drama filled, but infused with some great comedic moments.
SayWhatNews: Emmanuelle you have landed on ‘Maxim‘s Top 100’ list twice, She named fifth on Femme Fatal magazine’s 50 Sexiest Women on the Planet’, and was named ‘Sexiest Woman Alive’ for the sixth time by Smartasses Magazine. How does it feel to be considered a Sex Symbol?
Emmanuelle: Haha! I’m flattered? I’m certainly not upset by it. lol
SayWhatNews: What’s next in the future for Emmanuelle Vaugier?
Emmanuelle: I am starting a film in about 2 weeks….so just getting as much horse riding and time with my dogs as I can, before I have to leave.
