Angela Martin Gets The Boot From American Idol After 3 Attempts

photo: myspace

Angela Martin gets kicked off American Idol last night after 3 attempts. This time the aspiring singer just knew this would be her moment to make it to the Top 24 but again was disappointed. The judges gave her the very disappointing news that she did not make it through to the next round.

Recap: Martin tried out for American Idol and right after her father was murdered, so she had to drop out. The second time, she had to leave because there was a warrant for her to arrest regarding unpaid traffic tickets, it was either pay the fine or do 6 days in jail. Martin did not have the money so she did the time and once again had to drop out. The 3rd try/audition seemed to be the one. But more tragedy struck, her mother, disappears without a trace after Christmas.

I am so upset with American Idol over this. Once again they have cut someone who is very talented. The girl can sing, so why send her home? And of course they send someone through who really does not have a strong singing voice (Lilly Scott). This is why I always end up stop watching the show until the last few shows to see who is going to win.

Message to AI: STOP going for the image or the strange exotic look and go for the singing talent. An image can always be made over but talent can never be taught, either you can sing or you can't.

Rihanna Lands Role In The Remake Of The Last Dragon

Rihanna lands a role in the upcoming remake of The Last Dragon. According to reports Rihanna will be playing a new role that has been added to the remake of the 80's cult classic The Last Dragon. The sexy diva will be playing a roundhouse-kicking dominatrix. ‘She has landed an incredibly challenging role alongside Samuel L. Jackson. But it’s not a part for the faint-hearted. She will play a super sexy, super kinky dominatrix in martial arts flick ‘The Last Dragon’,’ a source said.

Sources say that Ri-Ri has been told to research how to be a dominatrix (have they seen her on stage in her sexy leather outfits/ I don't think she needs much training).

**Its been over a year since we have heard anything about this project. The last word about the film was that Samuel L. Jackson was set to play Sho'Nuff.

Sysnopsis/Tagline: A young man searches for the "master" to obtain the final level of martial arts mastery known as the glow.

He's a martial arts master who refuses to fight. He's a Bruce Lee fan who's so sure he's Oriental that he eats popcorn with chopsticks. his friends think he's too serious. His family thinks he's crazy. His enemies think he's no challenges. But she knows he's THE LAST DRAGON.

A Wedding Movie With A Twist

A wedding movie with a twist. Our Family Wedding has what it takes to be this year's funniest romance/wedding films. The joining of two cultures through marriage is a story that has been told time and time again but this time the twist is that its not the normal Black and White interracial love story. Our Family Wedding is about a Black guy wanting to marry his Hispanic girlfriend and their two families are not so happy about the union.

The trailer alone makes you laugh and look forward to watching the film.

Cast: Forrest Whitaker, America Ferrera, Regina King, Carlos Mencia, Lance Gross and others.

Synopsis: "Our marriage, their wedding." It's lesson number one for any newly engaged couple, and Lucia (America Ferrera) and Marcus (Lance Gross) are no exception. In Our Family Wedding, they learn the hard way that the path to saying "I do" can be rife with familial strife. When they return from college and too suddenly announce their marriage plans, they soon discover that their fathers - two highly competitive over-the-top egos - can wreak a major amount of havoc on their special day. With insults flying and tempers running high, it's anyone's guess if the alpha dads (Forest Whitaker and Carlos Mencia) will survive to make it down the aisle in one piece. Lucia's mother (Diana Maria Riva) is busy planning the wedding of "her" dreams and the only levelheaded one in the bunch is Angela (Regina King), the groom's father's best friend and lawyer, who manages to keep her cool when the madness reaches a crescendo. With only weeks to plan their wedding, Lucia and Marcus soon discover the true meaning of love and find there is truth to the saying - that when you marry someone, you marry their entire family. Valentine's Day Movie Hit or Miss

Is the new Valentine's Day movie a hit or miss? Critics have been asking this question days before the big release date which was yesterday Feb. 12th. According to reports although the movie is jam packed with A-celebrities like Ashton Kutcher, Taylor Lautner, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Biel, Jamie Foxx, Queen Latifah, Bradley Cooper, Patrick Dempsey, Topher Grace, Anne Hathaway, Emma Roberts, Julia Roberts and more; the movie's story line seems to be all other the place with no real cohesiveness.

Julia Roberts is supposedly only in the film for 6 minutes and the different story lines keeps you busier then a bumble bee. Here is an example:

Meet Liz (Anne Hathaway), a phone-sex operator dating a mail-room dude (Topher Grace). And now meet Julia (Jennifer Garner), a teacher falling for a married cardiologist (Patrick Dempsey) while being crushed on by an elementary school boy. And now say hi to Some Girl (Emma Roberts), who is trying to lose her virginity with That Guy Over There.

And there is more but we only have so much time (LOL). The bottom line is that all though the story lines are predictable you will enjoy the film if you like the typical, comedic love movies like Love Actually.

Will Alec Baldwin's Rant on Photog Bring A Dark Cloud Over 30 Rock & Upcoming Oscar Show?

Will Alec Baldwin's Rant Against photog bring a dark cloud for 30 Rock and upcoming Oscar Show? After the alleged big misunderstanding of Baldwin being rushed to the hospital the actor returned home after a day of work on the set of his hit show 30 Rock to find a swarm paparazzi waiting for him. Well things turned bad when Baldwin was attempting to show the police which photographer got all up in his face asking questions.

E! News reports: The New York Police Department confirmed to E! News that Baldwin returned home around 5:15 p.m. and after making his way through the crowd—both getting his arm grabbed by Wiencis and grabbing back in return.

"He then turned around and said, 'This man's just assaulted me, call 911,' " the source said. "His bellman called 911. I've never seen police turn up so fast in this city. Within minutes, there were four police cars."

Police entered the lobby of Baldwin's building alongside the actor, who then, without warning if not prodding, ran out and grabbed Wiencis' jacket. Police quickly stopped the action and brought Baldwin back inside.

"He lunged for the photographer, grabbed him, and then the police separated the two," the source said.

Baldwin's attorney had no comment on the incident, but will no doubt be pleased to know that no charges were filed and Baldwin took off a short while later. We're guessing to a hotel. With plenty of security.

Well after 2 huge misunderstandings in one day people feel that 30 Rock and the up coming Oscars that Baldwin will be co-hosting with Steve Martin will be just fine. Those close to Baldwin say he will use this to his advantage during the Oscars and probably crack a joke or two. He is known for turning bad media events into laughter.

**Other reports allege that ex-wife Kim Bassinger may have had something to do with getting their daughter Ireland to call 911 on Baldwin when she was not even in New York at the time (she was in California).

Brittany Murphy's Last Film Will See The Light

Brittany Murphy's last film will see the light. Murphy who recently died unexpectedly, final film will have life and hit theaters. The psychological thriller "Abandoned", will receive a theatrical release thanks to Anchor Bay Entertainment, which acquired the distribution rights to the movie this week.

"Releasing this young actress's last film is both an honor and bittersweet," says Anchor Bay President Bill Clark. "It was important…that the timing of this release be right, because we're sensitive to such a tragic loss."

Its Down to 3 for Possible Dancing With The Stars Open Co-Host Spot: Melissa Rycroft, Brooke Burke and Vanessa Minnillo.

Its down to 3, for possible Dancing with the Stars Co-host spot: former Bachelorette Melissa Rycroft, Brooke Burke and former ET/MTV host Vanessa Minnillo.

E! News has learned that ABC has only three serious contenders to replace the departing Samantha Harris.

Rycroft and Burke (who won disco trophy and crowned winner) were former contestants. Minnillo although never competed on the show has experience hosting and so does Burke.

Here is what E! News was told: "They're only testing those three on camera for now," a production insider tells E! News. "The testing will happen some time next week."

If the casting session doesn't work out, ABC has a backup plan to "rotate past contestants" in the role as backstage interviewer, with Rycroft, Burke, Drew Lachey and Nancy O'Dell among those at the top of the list.

I think Vanessa Minnillo would be a good fit because she played double duty at one time being a correspondent for Entertainment Tonight and MTV. She has that like able personality and charm that would be perfect for Dancing with the Stars. Minnillo can switch it up to appeal to the younger viewers/contestants and then switch it up for the older viewers/contestants. My second choice would be Brooke Burke. Burke has the same like able personality but has a different uniqueness to her.

Spoiler Alert: Project Runway Showcases 10 Contestants Fashion Line During Fashion Week

photo: E online

Spoiler alert: Project Runway showcases 10 contestants fashion line at fashion week. According to Watch it with Kristin, the finale show at Bryant Park revealed more then the usual 2 Designers showed their collection. 10 out of the remaining 11 Designers got the opportunity to have their designs walk the runway during fashion week.

Here is the spolier from E!:

"Jay Nicolas Sario's pieces stayed really on trend, with interesting shoulder and hip embellishments on the black, gray and plum creations. We especially liked a metallic purple frock.

• Janeane Marie Ceccanti said she is "inspired by things considered not to be alive but [that] grow anyway, like crystals," yet there was nary a crystal in the collection. We thought the goods belonged on a rack at Banana Republic more than on the runway at a couture fashion show; audience applause was weak.

• Jonathan Peters named his line Apiary and said it is an "experimental study in volume" and "fabric manipulation," inspired by things that fly. The results were rather uneven, with some big hits (like the tight gray dress with one tall shoulder ruffle) and some big misses (like the trampy superhero thing).

• The effervescent Anthony Williams was "sacked, packed and ready to attack" with his collection, inspired by the idea that "no matter what happens, you've got to keep moving." The collection was far from cohesive, but there were some incredibly wearable pieces, and we totally covet the black dress with the pink sparkles!

• Jesse LeNoir made it a point to let us know he's straight—by thanking his fiancée before debuting the wares he calls the Escape, based on crime novels and war movies. The clothes were costumey, literal military uniforms—angular hats and all!—but at least he committed to the theme.

• Seth Aaron Henderson brought a big bang to Bryant Park, keeping his looks intense, confident and very bold in black and red with a few bright yellow plaid pieces.

• Emilio Sosa's Color Me Badd collection may have been created all for love, and we adore the turquoise, red and green hues that peppered the cohesive group of clothes.

• Mila Hermanovski was moved "by shadows and all of the meanings they can have." In kind, the clothes were primarily black and white with interesting and uniquely mixed patterns with the occasional purple accent. The clothes were totally wearable, if not uniformly superflattering.

• Ben Chemura came out crying before he explained his work was inspired by Ray Bradbury's The Martian Chronicles. Blue tights and undershirts peeked through here and there, and the colorful little surprises reminded us of Avatar.

• When Amy Sarabi said she focused on "photographic digital printing and pleating," she wasn't kidding. The clothes either featured a patterned fabric she clearly created or a stunning array of pleats, and sometimes both. With the exception of one knit mess (a sweater that looked a bit like Styrofoam popcorn), the work was both artistic and cleverly unique.

Our guesses for who made the final? While we can't be sure, we can tell you that Jonathan, Jeanane, Jesse and Ben probably didn't make it to the end. Amy, Jay and Mila are probably good bets for the win. And for whatever it's worth, not one of the collections held a candle to Irina Shabayeva's winning lineup from last year."

Bonus: Faith Hill joins Heidi Klum, Michael Kors and Nina Garcia as the guest judge.

Beyonce and Russell Crowe To Remake A Star Is Born

Beyonce and Russell Crowe to remake A Star Is Born. Beyonce is already confirmed to be playing the lead the role and Russell Crowe has been rumored to be on the top of a very short list of possibles to star along side Beyonce. Also rumored to be on the list is Sean Penn and Robert Downey Jr.

If Crowe gets the role this pairing would probably be the most high-profile big-screen interracial coupling since "The Bodyguard."

60 Minutes recently interviewed Beyonce and did a nice background history about the singer. Watch the video:

Oscar Nominees Speak Out About Their Nods

Oscar nominees speak out about their nods. Bullock, Kendrick, Freeman and others share their thoughts after the Oscar announcements dust settles.

Sandra Bullock told the Hollywood Reporter: "I'd always assumed that the road to Oscar was planned. I thought people chose projects that were considered 'Oscar-worthy.' No one wanted to make this film. I didn't want to make this film for the better part of the year. Everyone is as blindsided — can I say that? — as I am."

Twilight star Anna Kendrick took to her twitter: "I'd love to say that 140 characters couldn't cover how I'm feeling right now but I'm honestly speechless."

Morgan Freeman said, I'd like to thank the Academy for this honor," he said in a statement. "Congratulations to Matt Damon on his nomination. I'm especially grateful to Clint Eastwood, 'Invictus' producer Lori McCreary, and the entire cast and crew of 'Invictus.' Most importantly, thank you to Nelson Mandela for his encouragement, his blessing and his friendship — without which, this film would not have been possible."

Penelope Cruz spoke to the Hollywood Reporter: "I am completely surprised and elated. Rob Marshall is not only a genius but an absolute joy to work with. I woke up every morning excited to collaborate with this amazingly talented group of actors. Filming this movie was such a special experience and to be nominated for this role makes me so happy."
