Ugly Betty Canceled
Shocking news: Ugly Betty has been canceled. The ABC series starring America Ferraro has been canceled after 4 seasons. In a joint statement by the show’s executive producer Silvio Horta and the president of US network ABC, Steve McPherson, said it was a “difficult decision” to cancel the show. “We’ve mutually come to the decision to make this ‘Ugly Betty’s’ final season, and are announcing now as we want to allow the show ample time to write a satisfying conclusion. “We are extremely proud of this groundbreaking series, and felt it was important to give the fans a proper farewell.” Actor Mark Indelicato, who plays Betty’s fashion-conscious nephew, Justin Suarez, admitted the decision to cancel the show was a surprise. Perry went toe to toe with Kara DiGuardi while judging a couple of the auditions, at one point Perry threatened to throw her coke in Kara's face. Perry basically let it be known that she was tired of the sob stories and would not send someone to Hollywood because she felt sorry for them, they should know how to sing. Ummm, Katy have you been watching AI for the past years. Its American Idol, someone who has a talent and who has been through some hard times i.e sob story makes the back story more interesting and AI focuses on that when the story is their to tell. Perry was worse then Simon's judging, at least you love to hate Simon but Perry made me want to get up smack my TV. Its like come on you have only one album under your belt, who do you think you are. I figured she would have some type of compassion especially since her Father is a minister. I guess she has been in Hollywood a bit too long.

True Blood Gets Its Own Wolf Pack
HBO's True Blood gets its own Wolf Pack for season 3. Joe Manganiello is the leader and will play Alcide Herveaux who is Sookie's werewolf crush (I see why). According to reports Eric summons Alcide to help Sookie search for Bill who mysteriously disappeared at the end of Season 2. In an interview with Michael Ausiello, Joe Manganiello speaks about his new character and more: Will your Alcide be different from the Alcide in the books? JOE MANGANIELLO: Alan Ball and I had a conversation about that at one of my auditions. I think it’s up in the air. I know that, at least initially, fans of the book will be pleased with my character. What’s your take on Alcide? MANGANIELLO: He’s really big. He’s giant. When Sookie first meets him, she opens the door and looks up, and then has to look up some more. So there’s this giant presence standing in the doorway with dark hair and dark features. He’s strong and protective. He comes from a construction background; his father is in the construction business. He’s heroic and romantic. I don’t think it’s a secret that he has a broken heart when he shows up. He had a really rough go of this relationship with Debbie Pelt, so there’s a lot of friction there. Debbie’s doing a lot of things to get back at Alcide. How long are you committed to the show for? MANGANIELLO: Right now we’ve just talked about this season. What can Alcide offer Sookie that Bill and Eric can’t? MANGANIELLO: Warm flesh and blood. That’s the neat thing about my character: Although he’s not entirely human, he is flesh and blood. He has a lifespan. In the books he hugs Sookie and she feels his skin and it’s just radiating heat. So I think the fact that he has some kind of sun burnt heat-radiating skin is just completely different. It’s [similar to when] she met Bill and what a relief it was for her to not to be able to hear his thoughts. Are you ready to be thrust into the Eric/Sookie/Bill fan frenzy? MANGANIELLO: For me it’s fun. I could see how if I was a 100-pound Hollywood actress it would probably be pretty scary, but I’m a big guy, so people don’t necessarily scare me in that way. With that said, I’ve had to go to the police a couple of times for stalkers. Really? MANGANIELLO: They were really big… I don’t know how I want to describe it but they were guys. I’ve had two guy stalkers that I’ve had to go to the cops about. But other than that I think it’s a blast. It’s so fun to get caught up in that. It’s so fun to have fans care that much. It’s that whole Comic-Con, fanboy crowd. I love that. I started my career in Spider-Man, so I’m completely familiar with them and I love that kind of stuff. Soap Opera legend Palmer Cortlandt dies. All My Children's James Mitchell died in Los Angeles at the age of 89 on Friday. ABC released a statement saying that Mitchell died of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and complications from pneumonia. James Mitchell began his acting career by starring on Broadway. He starred in such musicals as Carousel and Oklahoma. In 1979, Mitchell began his long lived career in the Soap world as the very rich Palmer Cortlandt. All My Children celebrated their 40th Anniversary on January 5th, where Mitchell made his last appearance. His character had been on hiatus for a years and fans were very happy to see Palmer back in Pine Valley. Mitchell will truly be missed. Hollywood Legend Jean Simmons Dies
Hollywood legend Jean Simmons dies at the age of 80. The Hollywood starlet died in her Santa Monica home in California on Friday. Simmons had been suffering from lung cancer. at the age Jean Simmons was nominated for two Oscars for her roles in Hamlet and The Happy Ending. Simmons also starred in several memorable roles in such films Desiree, Guys and Dolls, Dark Shadows and Spartacus. Another one of her memorable roles was as the late Patrick Swayze's mother in the 1980's hit mini-series North and South. R.I.P. Jean, your memory will live on in your films. According to reports Kellan Lutz (Twilight) and Jared Padalecki (Supernatural) were also up for the role but Momoa was given the honor. It looks like the producers are very interested in having Mickey Rourke to play the role of Conan's father in the film. Marcus Nipsel (Friday the 13th and Pathfinder) will be directing the film. Production will start shooting sometime in March in Bulgaria. Look for the film to hit the theaters sometime in 2011. Momoa is best known in his role as Ronan Dex in the Sci-Fi series Stargate of Atlantis which he started playing back in 2005. He also became a household name for those Baywatch fans when he took on the role of Jason Ioane in 1999 in Baywatch Hawaii. Planet of the Apes Franchise Still Possible
Planet of the Apes franchise still possible according to NY Magazine. Even after the 2001 remake starring Mark Wahlberg was a big disappointment to some critics, it looks like the film still has life. In an exclusive in NY Magazine, the franchise idea is still in the works at Fox. According to them, Fox has interest in getting the film into production. Fox has taken the steps in doing just that by handing the reigns to Peter Chernin (a former Fox News Corp head now turned producer) in hopes of getting the ball rolling at a much steadier pace. Fox has even gone as far as hiring writer Jamie Moss to rework Scott Frank's(who is rumored to have walked away from the production when the studio rejected his script for part 2) version,and the original writers, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (The Relic, The Hand that Rocks the Cradle), were recently brought back to polish the dialog." Star Jones brings her diva drama to the Insider. Jones was escorted off the set of the Insider in true divalicious fashion after getting into a screaming match with producers. During the argument Star insisted that the program topics were beneath her( Umm, remember this was the Insider's Hot Topic segment when the panel would discuss the latest gossip and celebrity news). According to reports Star at first was getting along with producers and everyone on the set during her 6 week gig on the Insider's correspondent panel until the diva revealed her self. Star sent an email to Lara Spencer (Insider reporter) questioning why was Niecy Dash (actress/comedian/host) part of the panel. Lara became upset and did what every high-school-er would do, she forwarded the email to Niecy Dash and that's when the drama began. " [Star] landed a six week gig as a panelist on the showbiz program, but security guards escorted her off the set after she engaged in a screaming match with a producer, a show source told The Enquirer. “At first, Star got along with the producers just fine,” the source divulged. “But as she got more comfortable, she started complaining about the topics they wanted her to discuss. She said they were too trashy and ‘Star doesn’t do trash!” Star – who famously locked horns with Barbara Walters on “The View” – also sent an e-mail to the show’s host Lara Spencer blasting fellow celebrity panelist Niecy Nash, said the source. “Star said she couldn’t understand why Niecy was a regular on the show, while she, Star, was not,” said the source. “Lara was upset by the e-mail, but instead of answering Star, she sent it to Niecy!” Before Niecy could respond, 47-year-old Star and a producer faced off right before the holiday break, said the source. “Star had made it clear that she didn’t like what was scheduled for the show that day – what she called ‘young Hollywood bimbos and reality show wannabes,” said the source. “Star reminded the producers that she was an attorney and could offer intelligent insight on the legal issues of the day, instead of wondering if Jon Gosselin had a new girlfriend!” “Star said she wanted to add some class to the program, to discuss things that made a difference and not dumb down the show. “The argument got heated, and then it turned into a shouting match.
