Adele and John Mayer Surgery News

What is going on in the world of music? Adele and John Mayer under go throat surgery:

- Adele cancels remaining 2011 Tour dates to undergo throat surgery. The soul singer was forced to cancel shows and appearances due to the continuing problem with her vocals and is now under doctors orders to recover properly.

Adele's rep said in an statement "We apologize for any inconvenience and disappointment caused, and appreciate your understanding during this time," her camp says.

In a lengthy blog post on October 4, Adele shared the full story of her voice trouble, explaining that the problem first arose in January and her voice "was weakened by a bout of flu from December." She hadn't fully recovered when kicking off the tour in March, leading her to being diagnosed with laryngitis.

The problem got worse when she suffered a hemorrhage and later developed a respiratory and chest infection. "I have never been able to fully recover from any of the problems that I've had and then continue to rest even once I'm recovered, because of my touring commitments," she explained.

- John Mayer is on vocal rest after throat surgery. Last Thursday Mayer had to undergo surgery after failed attempts on to treat his throat condition, known as Granuloma.

According to reports, Mayer tried alternative treatments to fix the inflamed nodule near his vocal cord in an effort to avoid an operation, but had no luck, explaining:

"It's been a very long process in waiting to see if time was an alternative to surgery, but even given two weeks' voice rest (along with many other approaches), there was no change for the better."

We are praying for Adele and John for a speedy and healthy recovery.

Keith Richards, Lil Wayne & Eminem Rock GQ's Cover

Rocker Keith Richards and Hip-Hops hottest rappers Lil Wayne and Eminem rock GQ's November cover for "Gods of Rock" issue. This issue is a special blow-out portfolio of the greatest living music masters, Hip-Hop geniuses, guitar slayers, one of a kind style innovators and a few girls who rock our world.

Lil Wayne even reveals his plans to retire at the age of 35 and why:

"Basically, I have been doing this for eighteen years. That’s reason number one. I have accomplished all that I have set out to accomplish and more. Also, I have a label, and I’ve only put out two artists [Drake and Nicki Minaj]. I have a lot more work to do, and it’d be selfish to not focus on being the boss and focus on their projects.

But the main reason is my kids, my children. Now, if I thought I’d be selfish to my artists, imagine what I think I would be doing to my kids. I have enough money that they don’t have to ever do anything—which, they will do everything, ’cause they ain’t getting sh*t. [cackles wildly] Six [more] years, I can do this Lil Wayne thing, and my boys will be about 7 and 8 years old. And man, it’s all about them then. You know, whatever they’re doing. Sports. Whatever they’re into. That’s where I am. I’m at every game. I’m the dad with the hat on. The jersey. That’s me.

I feel like I’ll be a new me, and how good is that? To actually be opening a brand-new door of life at 35? That’d be awesome. Totally awesome. I’m looking forward to it."

Here are the lyrics:

[Rihanna]

Yellow diamonds in the light

And we're standing side by side

As your shadow crosses mine

What it takes to come alive

It's the way I’m feeling I just can't deny

But I've gotta let it go

We found love in a hopeless place

We found love in a hopeless place

We found love in a hopeless place

We found love in a hopeless place

Shine a light through an open door

Love and life I will divide

Turn away cause I need you more

Feel the heartbeat in my mind

It's the way I'm feeling I just can't deny

But I’ve gotta let it go

We found love in a hopeless place

We found love in a hopeless place

We found love in a hopeless place

We found love in a hopeless place

Yellow diamonds in the light

And we're standing side by side

As your shadow crosses mine

We found love in a hopeless place

We found love in a hopeless place

We found love in a hopeless place

We found love in a hopeless place

We found love in a hopeless place

We found love in a hopeless place

We found love in a hopeless place

We found love in a hopeless place
